Donald Harington's new book Further Along is coming out in May!  Go to your independent bookseller and reserve a copy.  You will be very pleased as you will be reunited with old friends and make some new ones.

Can't wait to hear what everybody has to say once they read it!

I loved it, loved it, LOVED IT!!! And I want to talk with you about it....But, holy crap, it is the first time Mr. Harington has used a trick that I just don't understand. I bet I'll slap myself when you tell me, but I really want to understand the letter deletions at the end in bold.....

send me a private message if this is a spoiler of sorts.....

I'm having a hard time with that myself!  It's driving me crazy.  But I have not finished the book.  I started really fast and then I did not want to run out so now I'm taking it slowly...  So no spoilers...  If I figure it out I'll message you and you do the same?

I received this communication from Donald about the letter deletions (I had asked him about the deletions, too).

"That was an unfortunate typographer's error in the book. The "ff" key and the "fi" key are both one key, and for some weird reason it stopped operating a third of the way into the book. "

Hehehe...  The best part is that we were trying to figure out what it was.  Should be kept that way  ;)

Is that an actual quote from Dr. Harington himself? Or is it pure humor; great either way!!!

That's a direct quote from an email.

@audreydog:

At least he is willing to e-mail someone. He has refused any further such contact with me, and I had known him for 13 years.

I wasn't going to respond further on this site, but I had to comment. Apparently he is making exceptions to what he told me, this Spring, was a long-standing and continuing decision to have no further e-mail contact, whatsoever, with anyone.

(See this posting of mine for more information.)

yea,  sounds like it's a moment to moment thing. I recieved a wonderfully kind reply which confirmed almost everything you said (expect, obviously, that he won't respond to people).

I'm excited to keep reading his world.
