I recently made the LUBUAC road-trip. Fascinating trip! I highly recommend it to anyone with a few days to spend on the road. I was able to locate all 12 (yes, 12!) of the 'cities' and even re-created about half of the photos from the book. Thank you, Donald, for the inspiration on how to spend my vacation this summer :-)

I have not done *the trip* but, many years ago, I went to Hams in Garland City and that was thrilling.  Mrs Ham did not even know her place had been feautured in the book and we gave her a photocopy of the pages in the book.  Year later I tried to go again but the place had burnt to the ground.  A new place was in it's stead but the port-a-sign was still there...
